Talbot County Buck Located 32 Hours After The Shot
At Delmarva Drone Deer Recovery, we take immense pride in our successful searches. Here’s the story of Greg Haddaway and the Ten Point.
Greg has been chasing this buck for the entire season. He hunted this deer several nights a week for most of the Maryland hunting season. Despite all his efforts Greg was not able to connect on this buck until December 23 during muzzleloader season. Greg hunted in his ground blind that evening and the buck gave him a 30 yard shot at 4:30. He took the shot on this buck and watched it run off into the woods.
Greg got out of his stand and tracked his buck for 200-300 yards before it ran into an area he was unable to go. Greg got a few of his buddies and searched around the area for a few hours to see if the buck came back out and died. Despite their efforts they were unable to find any evidence of the bucks whereabouts.
Greg called me at Delmarva Drone Deer Recovery and we arranged a time to meet to conduct the search. We met at his house and drove to the hunting location. We began the search and didn’t find much in the area that the buck was thought to be in. After about an hour we located the buck at 1 am, 32 hours after the shot and 500 yards in a different direction.
After confirming it was Greg’s buck we went and recovered the deer. We think that the buck ran at least 700 yards after being shot.
